Cultural notes
Tipping déménageurs is appreciated, not obligatory. €10–20 per crew member for a normal move, up to €40 each if the job was long, involved heavy items (piano, armoire), or required multiple flights of stairs. Hand the same amount to every crew member individually, not just the foreman. A coffee, sandwich, or cold drinks during the day is equally well-received.
Common mistakes
Giving one big lump to the foreman to "split" — French movers prefer being tipped individually and equally.
