Cultural notes
Two distinct tips operate here. Rappi/Cornershop drivers get app or cash tips of 20–50 MXN for delivery. Separately, supermarket baggers (called "cerillos") at Walmart, Soriana and Chedraui are usually students or retirees who work entirely on tips — 5 MXN per bag (minimum 5 MXN, never less) is the longstanding norm.
Common mistakes
Forgetting to tip the cerillo at checkout because they are not formally employed by the store.
